This Privacy Policy explains how ResearchMate ("the app", "we", "our") handles information when you use our mobile application.
ResearchMate does not require user accounts and does not collect personal information such as your name or email address. Your documents, references, and library items are stored locally on your device.
We collect limited, anonymous data to operate and improve the app:
When you use AI writing features, the text you select or submit is sent to our AI provider solely to generate a response. We do not store this content on our servers.
Your documents, references, and notes are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We do not have access to your content. Anonymous analytics and crash data are processed securely through Google Firebase.
ResearchMate relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
Because your content is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. Anonymous analytics data is retained according to Firebase's standard retention policies.
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding your personal data. Since we do not hold identifiable personal data on our servers, most requests can be satisfied by deleting the app. For any privacy-related questions, contact us using the support option in the app.
ResearchMate is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be announced in the app. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, please contact us through the support option in the app's Settings screen.
